Suzanne Pastor is a German American artist based in Prague. She grew up in the Chicago area, studied at Northwestern University and at Art Institute of Chicago. Later she moved to Germany, where she studied at Kassel University and started working at Rudolf Kicken Gallery in Cologne. After spending ten years in Germany, she finally moved to Prague, where she co-founded and became the first curatorial director of Prague House of Photography (which later became part of GHMP/Prague City Gallery). In her photographic work she often creates 3D objects based on photography, focusing on commodification and presentation of the image, often creating book-like objects from layered glass. She has also worked with moving image and created several videos. Her work was showed at exhibitions in New York, Amsterdam, Chicago, Frankfurt, Berlin or Prague and is also in the collections of Museum Ludwig in Cologne, Brooklyn Museum of Art, South African National Gallery in Cape Town and Moravian Gallery in Brno, to name a few.
